Sesis.nycenet.edu – About SESIS
Special Education Information System (SESIS) eliminates the need for much of the manual processes of data in the school. Processing of data such as copying, faxing and using courier services for the exchange of information between all individuals involved in the process.
The platform offers most student data in real-time. So, when an authorized individual updates a case in SESIS, it automatically updates the student record. Thus, allowing all involved parties to see the most current info.
Students data is made available to staff and approved related service providers as appropriate. For instance, the school authority (principals) have access to all students in their schools and psychologists have access to students on their caseloads at schools for which they provide services.
Pre-populated student profile Info
For students in a New York City public school, including charter schools, basic student profile Info is pulled into SESIS from ATS. Also, corrections to student profile data (like name, grade level, and current school) must be made in ATS.
While, for non-attending students or students who attend an approved non-public school, profile info is added to SESIS by the Committee on Special Education (CSE).
Communications: the platform is designed to help users proactively manage cases. It also has reporting capabilities and an internal communication system, which includes a calendar and messaging system.
Though the calendar does not currently sync with the Outlook calendar. The messages can be sent to another email account by activating the Message Forwarding option.
