It is the third most populated county in the United States. Harris County is in partnership with the Catholic Charities to provide financial assistance to help families and individuals within Harry County recover from the financial distress that was caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

For the families that are within the jurisdiction of Harris County, they were given a one-time payment of $1,500 which could be used to cover feeding, rent, transportation, healthcare, and other expenses.
Applications were chosen and selected at random as it was not a first-come, first-serve program. Catholic Charities collate the received names, check out all applications for eligibility, get the proper documentation of the applicants, and then process the payment of those households that were approved and send their funds either by bank transfer or by certified mail.

To be eligible for this relief program;
- Your household must be within Harris County
- One adult member of your household must be a U.S citizen, legal permanent resident, refugee, or other qualified noncitizens
- Applicants must be 18 years or older
- If the housing is shared by more than one family unit then each family unit can apply
- The participating household must have at lone or more members that have enrolled in an assistance program before
- The household must show the economic hardship that was incurred during the COVID-19 pandemic.
